Praxis, again

I've been undergoing a great deal of praxis in my personal life- about what is working for me, and what isn't, and my space in the shop reflects that too. I'm growing and stretching myself in new directions, creatively-speaking.
 
I've moved towards embracing both a warmer palette along with some new neutrals. I just love Annie Sloan Chalk Paint's Coco and French Linen, as well as the worn beauty of old wood- you will start to see lots of that in my space over the next few weeks.

I also went on a major buying trip this month to acrue lots of new smalls and I'm really excited to bring back and share some of my favorite finds with customers!

Autumn is such a time of preparation for the winter ahead- we're preparing our homes and hearts for the celebrations in the coming months as the days grow shorter and the air becomes colder.

 
 
What will you do to celebrate fall?
 
Some of my family traditions are:

• lots of baking
• pick the last of the blueberries
• make jam and goodies to store away for winter
• go for hikes

And my favorite is to go on a leaf hunt where we gather some of the most brilliantly hued leaves we can find. Wright Park downtown Tacoma has MANY grand dames (trees) who shake off their garments with panache and style and scatter them on the grass below for us to gather.
 
I'm turning my attention to the winter holidays and have lots of plans in store!

A really special, repurposed piece; an antique headboard has been repurposed into a bench. The cushion is filled with luxurious feather down, with matching pillows.

This buffet is so much larger in person. She'd make a great addition to your dining room for all the holiday entertaining.

 

 

The desk, coffee table, and to the right - a glimpse of the buffet: All three were painted using the same colors but applying three different techniques and they all turned out great!

 

Just sold all these beauties! But I will be restocked tomorrow with many more!
