I literally ached to work on one of my own! As soon as I found her, I knew she would be a show stopper. I can totally see her at a wedding, can't you?
I'm calling her Amelia. Because, why not? I like giving special pieces their own names. I spend an awful lot of time with them and it feels like I become friends with them. They have so much soul.
I went simple and elegant- I think her lines speak for themselves and stand out with just a little distressing to bring out the detailing.
I think she is so dreamy... sigh.
I painted her up using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White, sanded her smooth with a 400 grit sandpaper, distressed her with a high grit sand paper along the edges and in the crevices, and then I sealed her with Clear Wax using my trusty wax brush and wiping her off with a rag. Buffed her to so that she has a lovely, soft sheen.
I die, don't you?

ReplyDeletewow, she is so pretty, and check out her legs!
ReplyDeletesweet, crys!
ReplyDeleteLovely job, but one question: why does your ASCP Old White look white, while mine has a yellow cast to it?

Stephanie- thank you for the compliment!
ReplyDeleteCassie- I LOVE her legs too!
Kennesha- thank you my dear!
Marje- The photo makes it look more white than it really is; in person it is definitely more creamy. The AS clear wax yellows Old White every time.
Your buffet is stunning! Great legs! I have been looking for one forever! I would be delighted for you to share this at Potpourri Friday, in progress!
